Have you seen The Highwaymen? We have too! Did you know Netflix asked Jack Mason to design a watch exclusively for the film's star-studded cast?
The widely talked about Netflix original film is the story of two Texas Rangers, played by Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson, who was challenged with taking down the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. As a Texas-based company, this was an exciting request for our team. Inspired by the enduring timepieces from the 1920s and 1930s, our designers went to work incorporating elements of the Texas landscape that reflected the theme and time of the movie.
"We chose to design a version of the camp watch because it has a classic look and takes inspiration from beautiful vintage watches. This case style also meshes well with the rugged environment surrounding Texas Rangers," said Colin Curry, Jack Mason's Senior Designer.
Featuring a gold-plated case, embossed lizard textured leather strap, and Swiss Super-LumiNova® markings for high legibility, this watch also has the Texas Rangers' star. The film's logo etched onto the case back to commemorate this fantastic film. Every person that sees this watch is amazed at how the Jack Mason team was able to pull together The Highwaymen theme into such an excellent timepiece.
The cast received their custom Jack Mason watches at the private party following The Highwaymen premier. The Jack Mason team jumped at the opportunity to participate in the film's South by Southwest experience on Rainey Street in Austin, Texas. The completely transformed basement of Bangers restaurant became a 1920s themed speakeasy. The attendees loved the watch design, and a few lucky winners got to go home with one of their own!
This is only scratching the service of what Jack Mason has in store this year. What's next? More to come on that...
